KIRI Restaurant on Karon Beach is a cozy spot for a relaxed dinner in Phuket, close to Mandaraba. The atmosphere is calm, with pleasant background music, comfortable seating, and dishes served on attractive tableware. The dining area is kept very clean, and even in warm weather it feels comfortable — without bothersome insects.
One of KIRI’s biggest strengths is its wide-ranging menu: Thai classics sit alongside European and Indian options. Portions are generous, service is quick, and prices remain reasonable for a resort area. Good picks include Tom Yum Goong, fried rice (including crab fried rice), pineapple fried rice, grilled squid, whole fish, and a variety of pork dishes — from pad krapow to basil rice with pork neck. Seafood lovers can go for the BBQ seafood platters, and the cashew chicken is another solid choice.
The service also stands out. The staff are friendly, attentive, and quick to respond to requests — including situations where a dish doesn’t suit your taste, which they handle politely with a manager’s involvement when needed. There’s also a Russian-speaking staff member in the dining room, which makes ordering easier.
A couple of minor notes: the indoor temperature can feel inconsistent (sometimes warm, sometimes cool), and a few items — such as French fries or certain desserts — may be less impressive compared to the rest of the menu.
