The Big Buddha is still closed to visitors after the landslide in August 2024 — and it used to have an amazing viewpoint. But there’s an alternative! Bet you haven’t been to this viewpoint yet? Although, if you’re into running, you might have climbed up here before.
This viewpoint is located on Big Buddha Hill. From here, you’ll get a stunning panorama of the sea, Karon Beach, the mountains, and the Chalong area. It’s a great spot for photos, and there’s a small café where you can grab a drink.
Instructions on how to get there: drive to the Big Buddha statue, right before the "no entry" sign turn left into the parking lot. That’s it — you’re there! ()
