Unni’s Restaurant Nai Harn
Unni’s Restaurant Nai Harn in Phuket is a lively, character-filled spot with a clear focus on authentic Mexican cuisine. The interior feels warm and vibrant, making it equally suitable for a relaxed dinner or an evening of cocktails and conversation.
The menu is generous and satisfying, featuring shrimp tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tostadas, and especially standout birria dishes. The churros deserve a special mention: served warm and crispy, they’re perfect with coffee or when you’re in the mood for dessert. There are also a few Thai options, such as khao soi (including a shrimp version), along with a light, refreshing gazpacho. For a side, many people go for the sweet potato fries — and they’re genuinely done well here.
The bar is another strong point. Cocktails are well-made and poured generously, and the 120-baht margarita has become something of a signature. If you’re not drinking alcohol, there are plenty of good choices too — the smoothies are just as memorable.
Service is friendly and attentive, with staff who speak good English. Large portions and fast service are a noticeable plus both for dine-in and delivery, with takeaway orders arriving consistently in good shape. On the rare occasion something goes wrong, the team takes responsibility and fixes it quickly. A few minor drawbacks: the coffee can be hit-or-miss, card payments occasionally come with hiccups, and things can get a bit inconsistent closer to closing time.
