Buddhist temple Thep Krasatti

One of the largest temple complexes in Phuket with a mysterious legend. The temple is famous for a golden statue of Buddha half submerged in the ground. One day a boy and a buffalo were plowing the ground in a field and accidentally hit some pegs. When he returned home, he fell ill and died. Later, the deceased son returned to his father in a dream and told him about that spot in the field. The father tried to dig up that stake and discovered a statue. Everyone who ever tried to dig it up soon died and the locals avoided the place. Many years later, a traveling monk saw the statue as a sign and suggested that a temple be built around it. To this day, only a part of the Buddha statue can be seen, the rest remains hidden underground.

Guests of the temple complex can take part in various rituals: fortune-telling, finding out your fate or asking a monk to give amulets magical power.

The territory of the complex is quiet and peaceful. Usually there are few tourists here, you can walk around the spacious garden and breathe the fresh air.

Visit Phra Thong, shrouded in legend and imbued with the Thai mystique of sacred sites.
