Yusu Restaurant (Chinese Cuisine) is a small Chinese spot in Phuket’s Kata/Karon area, just a short distance from the beach. The interior is bright and tidy — a clean, well-kept dining room with a relaxed “holiday” feel and no unnecessary noise. The location is convenient, and parking is usually not an issue.
The menu focuses on authentic Chinese flavors. You’ll find Sichuan staples such as mapo tofu, “boiled” beef or fish, and sliced pork, alongside homestyle comfort dishes like tomatoes with egg and hot-and-sour shredded potatoes. There are also northern-style noodle dishes served in a clear broth. Spice levels can be adjusted: dishes are typically moderately spicy, but extra chili is available on request. Seafood is prepared with Cantonese influences, and some items need to be pre-ordered a day in advance.
Service is very owner-driven and attentive. They’ll help you choose dishes, may treat you to tea and sweets, and occasionally can arrange a hotel transfer or pick-up/drop-off. Guests with sensitive stomachs can also get complimentary rice porridge. Payment is accepted in cash and via Alipay.
Prices are reasonable for a resort area: portions are generous, and a family dinner usually comes to around 1,200 THB. A couple of minor notes — some dishes may feel simpler than expected (for example, vegetables that come out a bit dry), and it’s worth confirming opening hours before you go, as the schedule can vary.
