Which beaches can you get to from Patong if you’re looking for cleaner water?
Insider's Response
Patong Beach is full of entertainment and activities, but the water there isn’t the cleanest. Luckily, there are other beaches nearby. Just south of Patong is Tri Trang Beach, about 700 meters long. The sea is calm, but tides are very noticeable — swimming is only possible during high tide. In the low season, there are no waves, so it’s a great time to visit.
A bit further is Paradise Beach. If you enjoy vibrant, energetic beach vibes, you’ll love it there. You can relax by calm, turquoise waters with almost no waves, or join the famous beach parties in Koh Phangan style. The beach offers sunbeds, a stylish café with a bar, and even an infinity pool right by the sea.
To the north of Patong, there’s also a small hidden beach called Hua Beach. It’s best reached by motorbike or car. Don’t miss the turn from the main road through a gate — parking is available right near the beach. It’s a quiet spot with almost no waves, making it great for swimming year-round.
