Green Heart Garden is a hillside restaurant above Kata, best known for its sweeping sea views and sunsets. The layout is designed so most guests face the horizon, with several seating areas, cushioned sofas, plenty of shade, and fans. Sunset hours tend to be noticeably busier, while daytime feels calm and unhurried. The restroom is kept clean, and there’s space to park motorbikes near the entrance.
The menu focuses on Thai cuisine and seafood, with an emphasis on freshness and neat presentation. Some ingredients come from the restaurant’s own garden, and dishes are often served on banana leaves, in small baskets, or on attractive tableware. Standouts include pad thai, seafood tom yum, crab curry with a generous amount of meat, morning glory (stir-fried water spinach), spicy red chicken curry, and squid in black sauce. Portions are large, flavors are bold, and the spice level is authentically Thai.
The bar fits the “dinner with a view” vibe: cocktails, beer, Thai tea, and fresh juices. The mango smoothie (made with real mango) and the pineapple juice are especially memorable. Prices are generally reasonable for such a location, though some drinks may feel pricier than down by the beach.
The road up is steep and can be narrow in places, so if you’re taking a taxi, it’s smart to arrange a return ride in advance. Service can be inconsistent during peak times — waits get longer when the place is full, and the staff may seem less warm. On the open-air terrace, insects can be a nuisance on certain days.
