Home Excursions Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park

Khao Lak is another example of “a different Thailand” – without noisy beaches and tourist attractions. This excursion allows you to visit several natural locations in just one day: caves, waterfalls, go bamboo rafting along the river, and get closer to Thailand’s sacred animals – elephants.

A Brief Overview of Khao Lak

Khao Lak is a resort area on the mainland, north of Phuket, in Phang Nga Province, approximately a 2.5-hour drive from the island.

The main feature of the region is the rare combination of jungles, rivers, waterfalls, and national parks. This is where many safari programs, elephant experiences, river rafting trips, and excursions deep into mainland Thailand begin.

Near Khao Lak there are protected areas with one of the oldest tropical ecosystems in Thailand. The local jungles are home to gibbons, monitor lizards, rare hornbills, and wild elephants, while many rivers and waterfalls flow through almost untouched forests.

The excursion begins with a visit to Suwan Khuha Temple, which is located inside a cave where monkeys live. A huge limestone cave with stalactites, a reclining Buddha statue, and the atmosphere of ancient Thailand – one of the most unusual locations in the region.

The main part of the program is an encounter with elephants. You can feed the animals, swim with them, and enjoy mud spa treatments. For many people, this becomes the most emotional part of the entire day.

After that, you will enjoy bamboo rafting or canoeing along the river through the jungle. The route also includes a stop at a waterfall, a visit to a mini turtle farm, and a viewpoint on Sarasin Bridge – the place connecting Phuket with the mainland.

This excursion is ideal for those who want to combine nature, animals, jungles, and a relaxing travel experience without long sea transfers. For more information, please contact us using the details below:
