Wat Mahathat Wachiramongkol Temple (Wat Bang Thong) on Krabi is located in Krabi Province. It was built in 1940 on donated land. For some time, this temple was not very well-known even among locals, let alone tourists.

This is not just a temple; it is a place for spiritual rebirth where you can enjoy the splendor of Thai architecture, the beauty of nature, and an atmosphere of peace.
The main attraction of the temple is the central stupa. Its height exceeds 70 meters, and its beauty and abundance of gold are blinding.

A majestic golden chedi towers on the temple grounds, created in the image of the shrine in Bodh Gaya—the place of Buddha’s enlightenment. Paths surround it on all sides where you can see images of Buddha. Mythical figures, golden statues, majestic pagodas adorned with works of art—you want to take it all in with your eyes!

In 2002, a chedi was built in the temple in honor of the 50th anniversary of Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, who became the famous King Rama X. The temple gained fame thanks to the 109-meter golden pagoda, and attention to it began to grow. This pagoda is considered the tallest in Thailand.

In this temple, you will trace Thai history from ancient times to recent events and enjoy architectural aesthetics.
