What to See in One Day in Phuket

Imagine this: you have only one day in Phuket. How can you make the most of it and see all the top spots? Here’s our suggested plan!

Take those iconic plane photos

Some of the most recognizable photos from Phuket feature planes flying extremely low overhead. You can capture these dramatic shots at Mai Khao Beach. It’s located on the northwest coast of Phuket, close to the airport — so if you’re arriving by plane, you can head straight there. The most impressive photos are taken when planes are landing. To check arrival times, use the Flightradar app.

Have a photo shoot at the café with giant water lilies

Here’s another spot perfect for eye-catching photos. Ma Doo Bua cafe isn’t exactly famous for its food or drinks — the main attraction is the giant water lilies. They can grow up to two meters (!) in diameter and are even strong enough to hold a person’s weight. You can take pictures from the pier with the lilies for free, but for 350 baht, you can feel like Thumbelina and sit right on a lily pad (as long as you weigh under 60 kg). For 1,000 baht, you can get photo and video content shot by a drone.

Stroll through Old Phuket and have lunch at a charming cafe

Old Phuket is one of the island’s most iconic districts, full of historical and architectural landmarks. At times, it feels like you’re in China, and other times it resembles old Europe. In Old Phuket, you’ll find narrow streets, colorful houses, vibrant murals, and art galleries. There are also plenty of unique cafés and restaurants.

Harry Potter fans will enjoy Mad Hog cafe, where you can sip on a mug of butterbeer. For a more luxurious experience, check out Blue Elephant, a colonial-style mansion turned restaurant. Other charming spots to note: MONDO, Endless Summer, Day and Night, Thai Mueang and 1000009 Thai Noodle.

In short, Old Phuket is the perfect place to enjoy architecture, have a delicious meal, and take tons of memorable photos.

Visit the majestic Wat Chalong Temple

You simply can’t miss the most revered temple on the island. Wat Chalong was founded in the early 19th century and is a large temple complex made up of several important structures. You can view a relic of the Buddha, make a wish, and admire the temple’s lavish interior. There’s also the opportunity to make an offering and release frogs, fish, and snakes into the lake behind the temple. In Buddhism, this act of compassion symbolizes liberation and the pursuit of spiritual harmony.

Watch the sunset at Promthep Cape

A true Phuket classic. Promthep Cape offers breathtaking views of the Andaman Sea and Nai Harn Beach. The sunsets here are absolutely stunning — almost unreal in their beauty. There’s also a lighthouse on the grounds, which doubles as a museum and a tribute to maritime history. Not far from it, you’ll find a small temple with elephant statues — symbols of wisdom and good luck.

Visit the Carnival Magic theme park and show

If nature and romance aren’t quite your thing — or if you’re traveling with kids — consider visiting a show the whole family will love. Carnival Magic is a Guinness World Record-winning theme park with nine records to its name. It’s a massive, one-of-a-kind spectacle unlike anything else in the world. The park’s territory is huge and divided into several zones: there’s a fairground, game pavilions, souvenir shops, a zoo, and even the world’s largest popcorn machine!

Have dinner at an authentic café

After your walk around the cape, you’re bound to be hungry. We recommend staying nearby and grabbing a bite at one of the local cafes. For example: Groov, Meat Point, Soul Kitchen, or La Cantina. The choice depends on the type of cuisine and atmosphere you prefer.

Or have dinner in the sky!

This is something you definitely won’t see anywhere else! Dinner in the Sky Phuket is a restaurant that lifts its guests 50 meters above the ground! You’ll get a full 360-degree view, breathtaking sights of Phuket, and sunsets from every angle — perfect for the most amazing photos. No need to worry about safety: every part of the platform is securely built, and you’ll be strapped into your seat.

There are several dinner programs to choose from, and you can book them at a discount via Instagram https://www.instagram.com/insider_booking, Telegram https://t.me/insider_booking,

Party at a nightclub

If you’re bursting with energy and your internal battery never runs out, end your day with a visit to the famous Bangla Road. It’s one of Phuket’s most unique attractions — a place where the atmosphere is all about endless celebration and wild fun. You can find a spot that suits your vibe in the Nightlife section, specifically in the Clubs and Afterparty collections.
