AZZURRA is an Italian restaurant in Phuket’s Laguna Bang Tao (Angsana Phuket) area, set right by the beach. People come here for the sea view and an unhurried, romantic atmosphere — especially at sunset, when it’s easy to slow down, listen to soft music, and watch the horizon. On selected evenings, there’s live jazz.
The menu stays true to Italian classics: pasta, pizza, antipasti, fish, and meat. Pasta is cooked properly al dente; the black spaghetti with lobster is a standout, and the salmon and soups are particularly well executed. Pizza is baked in a wood-fired oven, with clear attention to ingredient quality. A key strength is how confidently the kitchen handles dietary requests: gluten-free options are available, including pizza and pasta, and some dishes can be served with sauces on the side.
The wine list is thoughtfully curated and pairs well with the food, making it easy to choose a glass for dinner. The bar program is strong overall, although a few cocktails can be hit-or-miss.
Service is warm and professional. The staff are happy to guide you through food and drink choices, the dining room is kept clean and well organized, and Chef Piero often checks in personally to hear guests’ feedback. Now and then, there can be hiccups — slower service, less coordination during peak hours, or certain items being unavailable. On rainy days, beachfront seating may not offer enough cover. A 10% service charge and 7% VAT are added to the bill.
