Brief Overview of Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia and one of the fastest-growing cities in Southeast Asia.
The name "Kuala Lumpur" translates as "muddy confluence" or "muddy river mouth." The city was founded at the point where the Klang and Gombak Rivers meet.
Kuala Lumpur has been shaped by the influences of Malay, Chinese, and Indian cultures. As a result, visitors can enjoy a wide variety of authentic cuisines, explore colorful religious landmarks, and experience the many different sides of modern Malaysia — all in a single day.
Kuala Lumpur is home to the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, one of Malaysia's most recognizable landmarks. Until 2004, they were the tallest buildings in the world and remain one of Asia's most impressive architectural attractions.
A flight from Phuket to Kuala Lumpur takes approximately 1.5 hours, making the city an excellent destination for a weekend getaway or a short but memorable vacation.
