Tamarind Restaurant sits within the Pullman Phuket Panwa Beach Resort, right on the shoreline. It offers sweeping panoramic views over Panwa Bay: by dinner the sky turns soft rose and gold, and the gentle sea breeze makes the whole evening feel effortlessly calm. Seating is available both indoors and outdoors; the vibe is relaxed and quietly upscale — polished, but never showy.
The food focuses on modern Southern Thai cuisine with a fusion touch. Bold spices and vibrant sauces are paired with more European techniques and refined plating, and the team can adjust the heat level to your preference. The menu leans confidently toward seafood and meat: lobster tom yum, lobster khao soi, black grouper in green curry, duck curry, and beef curries (including massaman and slow-braised beef cheeks). For starters, the shrimp cakes/fritters and the pomelo salad with seafood are reliable choices; if you want something more unusual, try the fresh squid with ink. Desserts are also strong — mango sticky rice, durian crème brûlée, and the colorful “water chestnut” sweets.
Another standout is the warm, attentive service. Staff are happy to walk you through the menu in detail, help build a well-balanced order, and keep the pacing comfortable — even for large groups and families with kids. Evenings may include live music (Friday saxophone and violin performances are especially memorable), and there’s sometimes a fire show on the beach. One thing to note: prices can feel high for a resort restaurant, and some items — lobster in particular — aren’t always equally impressive.
