The Dreaming Tree Phuket is a cozy café on the mountain road to the Big Buddha, where the real highlight is the sweeping panoramic view over Phuket, the sea, and nearby islands. Set beneath shady trees, it’s an easy place to escape the heat or wait out a sudden rain shower — whether you choose a regular table or sink into one of the soft beanbags and simply slow down for a while.
The kitchen is completely meat-free, with a fully vegetarian menu that also includes vegan options. Dishes can be adjusted on request, including gluten-free and dairy-free versions. Everything is cooked to order with fresh ingredients, and portions are generous. You’ll find pizzas (including Margherita and veggie), panini and ciabatta sandwiches, a plant-based “chicken” Caesar roll, burgers, spring rolls and Japanese-style rolls, mushroom gyoza, soups like minestrone, dal served with roti/paratha, fries with aioli, and chips with salsa.
The drink list includes shakes (including a KitKat-style shake), mango shakes, juices and mixes, iced coffee, and fresh coconuts — and whenever possible, they’ll tailor drinks to your preferences.
Inside, the space feels bright and modern, with large mirrors near the bar, neat design details, and a restroom that’s surprisingly memorable. The dining area is spotlessly clean, the staff are friendly, and English communication is easy. There’s parking available, and it’s a comfortable stop for families with children.
Good to know: the café is closed on Mondays, and payment is cash only (cards aren’t accepted). During quieter hours it can feel very calm, and you may occasionally need to call a staff member over.
