Phuket, in the low season? Why?
From May to October, Phuket has its low season. Tour operators say: it’s off-season, with rain, waves, and nothing to do. But what’s it really like?
Firstly, there are no crowds of tourists on the beaches, making seaside relaxation more peaceful and secluded. If desired, one can even find completely deserted beaches for total relaxation.
Secondly, the prices for both villas and hotels are significantly lower. For the same amount of money, you can afford much higher quality accommodation than in the high season.
Thirdly, there is less traffic on the roads and fewer crowds at pedestrian locations.
Fourthly, the weather becomes more varied, and nature is lusher. You’ll likely experience rain, sun, and overcast weather, which isn’t as hot. In the jungles, you’ll see more greenery.
Fifthly, there are opportunities to surf, for example at Kata or Karon, and to find waveless beaches suitable for swimming with children.
