Nai Harn is a place where the vibe of Phuket feels completely different: less hustle and bustle, fewer large hotels and tourist noise, and more greenery, cozy cafes, and a sense of calm seaside living.

At the same time, the area can’t really be called completely “quiet.” There are viewpoints, bars, restaurants, and sea excursions, so you definitely won’t get bored here.

Beaches

The main reason many people fall in love with Nai Harn is its nature and beaches. Here they look more “alive” and natural: without dense construction, noisy roads along the sea, and endless rows of hotels.

Nai Harn

Geo on Google Maps

Nai Harn is one of the most beautiful beaches in the south of Phuket. It is located in a scenic bay, so the sea here is calm and clear for most of the year — this is exactly why the beach is so popular with families with children.

During the high season, it is pleasant to swim, go snorkeling, and simply spend the day by the sea, while in the low season waves come to Nai Harn and the beach becomes popular with surfers.

Along the beach there are sun loungers, cafes, massage salons, sports areas, and volleyball courts. Nearby are Nai Harn Lake and a Buddhist temple.

Yanui

Geo on Google Maps

Formally, this beach belongs to the Rawai area, but it is located just a 5-minute drive from Nai Harn.

Yanui is very small but highly atmospheric: calm water during the season, plenty of palm trees, rocks along the edges of the bay, and a beautiful view of nearby islands. People often go snorkeling and kayaking here — fish swim close to the shore.

Despite its popularity, the beach retains a sense of intimacy. It is especially beautiful closer to sunset.

Ao Sane

Geo on Google Maps

A small hidden beach near Nai Harn that for a long time remained a place “for locals.”

Ao Sane differs from the classic beaches of Phuket: the sand is coarser, there are more rocks, and there is a lot of greenery all around.

The main highlight is the snorkeling opportunities. You can already see fish and coral close to the shore, and the water here is very clear.

The atmosphere is as relaxed as possible: small cafes, minimal noise, and the feeling that you’ve discovered a secret spot.

Viewpoints

The south of Phuket is one of the best areas on the island for sunsets and panoramic views. And Nai Harn is located right between some of the most beautiful viewpoints.

Promthep Cape

Geo on Google Maps

The most famous viewpoint in Phuket and one of the island’s main sunset spots. Every evening, hundreds of people come here to watch the sun set over the horizon. Despite its popularity, the place is truly worth a visit — the views are stunning!

There is a lighthouse on the site, small souvenir shops, and walking paths along the cape.

Watch our video about Promthep Cape and get inspired:

Windmill

Geo on Google Maps

One of the most beautiful viewpoints in the south of Phuket. The place got its name from a huge wind turbine that can be seen from almost anywhere in the area.

It offers panoramic views of Yanui Beach, the sea, and small islands near Phuket. It is especially beautiful at sunset, when the sun begins to sink directly into the ocean.

The spot is popular with photographers and with those who simply come to sit with a coffee and watch the ocean.

Black Rock

Geo on Google Maps

One of the most impressive viewpoints in the south of Phuket, offering panoramic views of Nai Harn, Yanui, and the Andaman Sea.

There is almost no infrastructure here, so it’s best to bring water with you. But the views alone make the climb absolutely worth it: massive cliffs, the sea stretching to the horizon, and the feeling of being in one of the wildest and most beautiful places in Phuket.

The road here is quite uneven, so it’s worth riding a scooter carefully. Vehicles are parked at the parking area, and from there a short walk begins through greenery and jungle. The trail is easy and takes about 10 minutes.

In the evenings, the area becomes especially lively: locals come here for walks, workouts, and Zumba classes, and sometimes festivals and small events are held in the park.

Cape Krathing

Geo on Google Maps

A place for those willing to step out of their comfort zone for breathtaking views. It can only be reached on foot, so it’s important to be prepared: wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as the trails can be rocky and slippery in places.

There are several routes. The most difficult one starts from Nai Harn Beach: the path first follows the rocky shoreline and then continues along narrow trails through hills and grass.

A easier and more popular option is to start from the Black Rock viewpoint. You can get there by transport and then continue on foot along a dirt road through jungle and rubber plantations.

As a reward for the effort, you get panoramic views of southern Phuket and an incredible sunset.

Important: if you’re heading out in the evening, it’s best to plan your time so you return before dark, or at least bring a flashlight with you.

Nai Harn is a place that many people don’t fall in love with at first sight, but gradually. It doesn’t have the hectic pace of Patong or the feeling of a resort “assembly line.” Instead, it offers what people often return to Phuket for: beautiful beaches, green hills, sunsets, a calm atmosphere, and a relaxed seaside lifestyle.
