SEPTEMBER 1

Hungry Ghost Festival
One of the oldest Chinese festivals in Phuket. Families make offerings to their ancestors and spirits, including food, incense, and ritual paper. The main symbol of the festival is the red turtle-shaped Ang Ku cake, symbolizing longevity.

Mooncake and Mid-Autumn Festival
One of the main traditional celebrations of the Chinese community. In the evening, families gather together, admire the full Moon, make symbolic offerings, and enjoy mooncakes. In Phuket, special mooncake collections are prepared for the festival and can be purchased in supermarkets, while Chinese shops and venues are decorated for the occasion, especially in the Old Town area.
