Surin is one of the most elegant areas on Phuket’s west coast. It was once called the “millionaires’ beach” thanks to the luxurious villas on the hillsides and high-end resorts resorts.

Today, the area has preserved the atmosphere of a calm, upscale getaway: there isn't much nightlife, but there is a beautiful beach, good restaurants, stylish beach clubs, and some of the most scenic sunsets on the island.

Surin is often chosen by visitors who like Bang Tao and Kamala but prefer a quieter, more intimate atmosphere. The area is small, so most places are within walking distance of each other, and neighboring areas can be reached within a few minutes.

Beaches

Surin Beach

Geo on Google Maps

The main attraction of the area and one of the most beautiful and cleanest beaches on Phuket’s west coast. A wide stretch of light sand, clear water, and the lack of dense development create a sense of open space.

The beach is located between Kamala and Bang Tao and stretches for almost 800 meters. As a result, even during the high season, it's usually possible to find a quiet spot to relax.

Along the shore grow casuarina trees and other tropical plants that provide natural shade. Nearby, there are massage shops, stalls selling cold drinks, street food, and beach accessories.

Haad Laem Sing Beach

Geo on Google Maps

Secluded beach near Surin, hidden in a picturesque bay between rocks and dense tropical vegetation. Its secluded location has helped preserve the feel of a secluded tropical paradise despite its proximity to popular resort areas.

Soft light sand, clear water and beautiful views make this beach an excellent place for peaceful relaxation, swimming and snorkeling.

Even in the high season, there are usually noticeably fewer people here than on the popular neighboring beaches.

You can get to Laem Sing via a trail from Surin Beach. The descent isn't difficult, but it takes a little time and requires comfortable footwear. You can also reach the bay by longtail boat from Surin or Kamala beaches.

Bang Tao Beach

Geo on Google Maps

Just a few minutes’ drive from Surin is Bang Tao Beach – one of the longest beaches on Phuket’s west coast. It is about 8 km long, and its wide shoreline is covered with fine light sand. Casuarina trees grow along the beach, providing pleasant shade on hot days.

The southern part of the beach is more lively: there are cafes, restaurants, shops, and sun loungers available. By contrast, the northern part remains quiet and is ideal for those who prefer to relax away from crowds.

The calm sea and gently sloping entrance into the water make this beach an excellent choice for swimming, long walks along the shore, and relaxing on the beach.
