Surin is one of the most elegant areas on Phuket’s west coast. It was once called the “millionaires’ beach” thanks to the luxurious villas on the hillsides and expensive resorts.

Today, the area has preserved the atmosphere of a calm, upscale getaway: there is no noisy nightlife here, but there is a beautiful beach, good restaurants, stylish beach clubs, and some of the most scenic sunsets on the island.

Surin is often chosen by those who like Bang Tao and Kamala beaches but prefer a quieter, more intimate atmosphere. The area is small, so most places are within walking distance of each other, and neighboring areas can be reached within a few minutes.

Surin Beach

Geo on Google Maps

The main attraction of the area and one of the most beautiful and clean beaches on Phuket’s west coast. A wide stretch of light sand, clear water, and the lack of dense development create a sense of open space.

The beach is located between Kamala and Bang Tao and stretches for almost 800 meters. Because of this, even during the high season, it is usually possible to find a quiet spot to relax.

Along the shore grow casuarina trees and other tropical plants that provide natural shade. Nearby, there are massage shops, stalls selling cold drinks, street food, and beach accessories.

A restaurant recognized by the Michelin Guide for those who see dinner not just as a meal, but as a complete gastronomic experience.

The cuisine is led by Italian chef Luca Mascolo, and the restaurant’s concept centers around its signature smocaccia — a sourdough-based artisanal baked bread that takes more than two days to prepare.

The venue operates in a tasting menu format, consisting of several sequential courses. Each dish is part of the evening’s overall concept, and the dinner itself becomes a gastronomic journey.

A visit to The Smokaccia Laboratory usually takes several hours, so it’s not a place for a quick meal, but rather for new impressions and an introduction to modern haute cuisine.
